Our aim is to assist you gain the Australian qualification through an easy to follow process that will allow our trainers to audit and assess your trade qualifications in your native country and complete a practical assessment once you have arrived in Australia.
As an Australian registered training organization (RTO) we have the means to help convert your current trade qualifications so as to meet the Australian Standards. We do this by assessing your Suitability through evidence that you supply to us, which enables our Nationally Qualified Trainers to give you credit for recognised prior learning (RPL – Recognition of Prior Learning) and then designing a gap training course specifically for you so that upon arrival in Australia you will simply have to complete some practical testing and we will, once the trainers are satisfied, issue you with Nationally Recognised Trade Qualifications.
This process could be as little as 4 weeks after arriving, but note “only if you meet all the requirements for the RPL process in Australia and your evidence has all the requirements for the qualification that you are applying for.
If you are a qualified tradesperson in your native country, and you are intent on migrating to Australia, the General Skilled Migration (GSM) Program is probably the way the way to do it. You can gain a GSM visa by fulfilling a certain criteria. Fulfilling these requirements of the criteria earns you points, and when you have enough points, you are eligible for a GSM visa.
This however doesn’t meet the requirements for the qualification to transfer to contractor’s licence once you have arrived, without a contractor’s licence it is virtually impossible to become a qualified tradesman. We at Realistic Training Options are fully aware of these problems and will endeavour to help wherever possible in your transition from you country to Australia.
As a tradesperson, you are required to have your skills assessed to obtain a migration visa.
The most important requirement within this process is to providing proof that you are a skilled worker. While completing this process, you must keep several copies as your required evidence, you will need to upload your evidence into our portal so our assessment can begin.
Realistic Training Options will assist you in the gathering of evidence thereby gaining your Australian qualification. This is achieved by written, oral and practical examinations regarding your trade knowledge and practical ability. Obviously we cannot assess your practical ability until you arrive in Australia but we can gather all evidence to help through the RPL process.
Of course having a nationally recognised Australian Qualification will make you much more attractive to Australian employers as you only have to complete the practical assessment at our Brisbane campus before being fully qualified.
Once you feel that you are confident and ready, we can book you in to the next available Technical Interview i.e. theory and practical assessment. Once you have successfully moved to Australia and completed the practical assessment, you will then be issued with a Qualification and Statement of Attainment, which is required for provisional licensing purposes in Australia.
